Founded in 2017, Iqrah Charitable Society, now Birim Charity Organisation, began its journey in the Zongo community of Akim Oda – Birim Central Municipality, with a simple but urgent observation: vulnerable children in our community who are less privileged due to discrimination or are orphans. Families that depend on the benevolence of the community for a living. Our founder, Mr Meekail I. Prah, who founded a learning centre in the 1980s, saw an opportunity to integrate the have-nots into the community. What started as a small group of volunteers has grown into a dedicated workgroup covering five regions of Ghana, with the main office located in Accra.
